Non-emergency medical rides, 24/7
Selected Transportation moves patients across Wisconsin — to dialysis and infusion, to specialist and clinic appointments, and home again after a discharge. Wheelchair-accessible vans, low-deck ambulatory sedans, and schedules that hold week to week.

Why choose Selected Transportation?
Non-emergency medical transportation across Wisconsin, run around the part that actually decides whether a trip goes well — the right vehicle, a driver who knows how to help, and someone who picks up the phone.
Vehicles you would put your own parent in
Interiors cleaned between riders, and a walkaround before the shift covers tires, lights, brakes, the ramp or lift, and the securement straps.
Drivers trained to assist, not just to drive
Helping a rider stand, steady, step and settle — and anchoring a wheelchair with all four points every time — is training, and we treat it that way.
The vehicle matched to how you transfer
We ask how you actually get in and out before we dispatch, then send the low-deck ambulatory sedan or the wheelchair-accessible van that suits it.
Door to door, not curb to curb
The driver comes to the door, helps through it, and stays until you are safely inside — at the appointment and again when you get home.
Recurring schedules that hold week to week
Dialysis, infusion and therapy runs are set once and kept: the same pickup, the same routine, without rebooking every session.

Your safety is our first priority.
Most of what keeps a medical trip safe is unglamorous and happens before anyone gets in the vehicle. Here is what we do, in the order it happens, so that a rider, a family member or a case manager can hold us to it.
/ 01Before every trip
Before every trip
A trip begins well before the pickup window. The checks below happen whether or not anyone is watching.
- A walkaround at the start of every shift — tires, lights, brakes, horn, wipers and seat belts.
- On accessible vehicles the ramp or lift is cycled, and the tie-down tracks, straps and occupant belts are inspected rather than glanced at.
- The route, the building entrance and the drop-off point are confirmed ahead of time — the door the rider actually uses, not just the street address.
- Winter is planned for rather than reacted to. Snow and ice come off the vehicle and it is warmed before the rider comes out, the path from the door is checked underfoot, and we add time to the schedule instead of hurrying a route in bad weather.
- Any defect that affects safety takes the vehicle out of service the moment it is found. We would rather send a different vehicle than a compromised one.
/ 02In the vehicle
In the vehicle
Securement is the part of this work with the least room for improvisation, so it is the part we are strictest about.
- Mobility devices are secured with a four-point system, and the rider wears a separate occupant belt. Both, on every trip, including the short ones.
- No trip starts until the rider is secured and the driver has checked the securement — not while pulling away from the entrance.
- Drivers assist from the door rather than the curb, and help with a reasonable amount of personal belongings.
- Drivers do not provide medical care and do not lift a rider by hand. Where a trip needs more than we can safely provide, we say so at booking rather than at the curb.
- Service animals travel with their handler at no additional charge — tell us when you book so we send a vehicle with room for one.
/ 03Our drivers
Our drivers
These are our requirements of an applicant, in writing, so that nobody has to take a driver's suitability on trust.
- Before a first passenger: a valid Wisconsin driver license, a driving record we have reviewed, a criminal background check and a drug screen. All four cleared — not in progress, not pending.
- Training is a condition of driving for us, not an optional extra: passenger assistance and mobility-device securement before any trip involving a wheelchair, defensive driving, and the privacy rules we hold drivers to.
- Screening is not a one-time event. We re-check driving records on a set schedule, and drivers are required to tell us straight away if their license or insurance status changes.
- Our disqualifiers are written down rather than judged case by case. A DUI, a serious moving violation, an offense involving violence, or a positive drug screen ends the arrangement.
/ 04When something goes wrong
When something goes wrong
A safety standard is only worth as much as what happens the day it is not met.
- Every concern is written down with the date, the trip and what was reported — including the ones raised by phone. Nothing rests on someone remembering it later.
- Where passenger safety is involved, the driver comes off the route while we review it, rather than after.
- We come back to the person who raised it with what we found and what we changed as a result.
- You are always free to escalate to the health plan, agency or facility that arranged the trip. We will provide the records they ask us for.

The right vehicle for every rider.
A medical trip is decided at the door, not on the road. We match each ride to how the passenger gets in and out — a seat they can slide into, a lower floor and a wider opening, or a ramp and proper securement so the chair never has to be left behind.
Ambulatory Sedan
Seated transport for riders who can walk to the car.
For appointments where a passenger can transfer on their own or with a steadying hand — clinic visits, follow-ups, lab work, same-day discharges. The driver meets the rider at the door, helps with the seat belt, and stows a cane, walker or folding chair.
- Seats a companion
- Front or rear seating
- Door-to-door assist
- Walker & cane stowage
Low-Deck Minivan
A lower floor and a wider door to step through.
For riders who find a sedan's seat too low or a full-size van's step too high. A sliding door, grab handles and a shorter climb keep the transfer manageable for someone with a stiff hip, a healing knee or limited balance.
- Low deck height
- Wide sliding door
- Grab handles
- Seat for a companion
Wheelchair-Accessible Van
Ramp or lift entry with four-point securement.
The rider stays in their own wheelchair for the whole trip. A ramp or powered lift brings the chair aboard level, the chair is anchored at four points, and the rider is belted separately across the lap and shoulder.
- Ramp or lift entry
- Four-point tie-downs
- Lap & shoulder belt
- Manual or power chairs
Group & Facility Van
Higher-capacity seating for facility group runs.
For dialysis center runs, day-program schedules and residents traveling from the same senior community — several riders on one route, with handrails and a step assist at the door, and a seating layout that can give up a row for an accessible position.
- Multi-passenger seating
- Handrails & step assist
- Flexible seating layout
- Shared facility routes
Not sure which vehicle a rider needs? Tell dispatch how the passenger transfers — walks, uses a walker, or stays in a wheelchair — and the right class is assigned to the trip.
Helping patients, and the people arranging their care.
Some trips are booked by the person taking them. Many are booked by someone else — a discharge planner waiting on a bed, a scheduler holding a standing dialysis slot, an adult child two time zones away. We take the booking from whoever is holding the appointment, and we move riders to and from the places care actually happens across Wisconsin:
- Hospitals & Health Systems
- Skilled Nursing Facilities
- Assisted Living Communities
- Dialysis Centers
- Infusion & Cancer Treatment Centers
- Surgical Centers
- Hospice Organizations
- Private Individuals & Families
- Case Managers & Discharge Planners

Proudly serving your community.
We run non-emergency medical trips across Wisconsin — the dialysis chair on the other side of town, the specialist a county over, the follow-up visit that is hard to reach without a ride. Tell us the pickup, the destination, the appointment time and the mobility equipment involved, and we confirm whether we can cover it well before the day of the trip.
Winter is part of the planning here — when the roads are snow covered we would rather build in extra time than rush a pickup. And if you are not sure we reach a particular address, ask anyway. We would rather tell you plainly that we cannot cover a trip than leave someone waiting at a curb.

Our mailing and administrative address — it is not a pickup point or a walk-in office. Trips across Wisconsin are arranged ahead by phone or through the ride request form.
